Throwbacks – Flashbacks to memorable experiences and events

In July-August, I found my passion for making music reignited after years of stepping away. By August, I thought to myself, “Why not share my music with others?” This led me to start a YouTube channel in mid-August. I was inspired by various artists, such as André Schnura, Dynoro, Alan Walker, and iwilldiehere. After deeply connecting with some of their songs, my own project gradually began to take shape. I initially launched my channel under the name "Cognitive 1447," which later became "Cognitive Music," and started releasing free tracks, like my first single "Chasser la lumière," along with a few others.

However, having worked as a freelancer and being self-employed for years, I wasn’t satisfied with a half-hearted approach. I wanted something with a deeper connection to myself, something that represented my identity. I decided to choose an artist name that felt personal, and that’s when "Dion Lumin" came to life. I removed the initial tracks from my channel and relaunched under this new identity. This decision marked a turning point—I created additional channels, including Instagram and Facebook, under "Dion Lumin," and re-released "Chasser la lumière."

The response was incredible. Within a short time, the track gained nearly 4,000 views on YouTube, and my subscriber count skyrocketed from 10 to 50, then to 100, 200, 400, and eventually 500. The feedback from people engaging with my music has been both inspiring and motivating, pushing me to keep creating and sharing more.

Releasing my first major project, the YEET LP, was a truly exhilarating experience. After pouring countless hours of effort and creativity into every track, seeing it finally come to life and available for listeners felt both surreal and incredibly rewarding. I was nervous and excited, wondering how it would resonate with others, and when the positive feedback started rolling in, it was beyond satisfying.

Reaching 1,000 subscribers was another milestone that showed me the growing support of my fanbase. Not long after, the subscriber count doubled to 2,000—a clear sign that the community around my music was expanding. This growth was a huge motivator, pushing me to continue creating and refining my work.

Receiving Facebook verification was another incredible moment that validated my journey as an artist. The blue checkmark not only provided greater reach but also brought a new level of recognition to my project. Each of these milestones—my first LP, the rising subscriber numbers, and Facebook verification—felt like an acknowledgment of the hard work I’d invested. Together, they represent the foundation of what I hope to continue building with Dion Lumin.

Developing a Signature Sound – Reflecting on the journey to discovering my own sound and style, I've consistently pushed myself to explore new ideas, experiment, and try out different techniques. From testing unique effects to crafting new themes and projects, I've been on an ongoing journey of self-discovery in my music.
